During this holiday season, there is nothing better than the gift of family. Over the past couple of weeks, I have been fortunate to spend time in Hawaii with my fiance, parents, and my sisters family.

It was my first time in Hawaii and I had such an amazing time! We drove the rode to Hana, went to the beach literally every day (my fiance has road rash on his stomach from all the boogie boarding), and ate loads of fish and shave ice.  My parents tried sushi for the first time and I wish I could have had a camera to record it.

One of the highlights of the trip was something I really didn't want to do at all. It involved waking up at an ungodly hour (3AM!)  to drive up a freezing cold mountain in the dark. Luckily my fiance persisted, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable activities of the trip.

Haleakala Summit stands at 10,000 feat above sea level and offers views of one of the worlds largest dormant volcanic craters, panoramic views of Maui and two of the other Hawaiian islands.
