PIE!

by

For some families its all about the Turkey or the stuffing on Thanksgiving, but for my family its all about the PIE! I am the oldest of 8 so its safe to say that when we get together there is more than a couple of people there, and we are obsessed with pie. We always do Thanksgiving the Sunday before so that we can spend the maximum amount of time together without worrying about getting to another families house and we always bring home made pie (because store bought just won’t cut it). This Thanksgiving we had 13 pies and finished a very large majority of them (teenage boys can put the food away!) they ranged from several different pumpkin pies, lemon, chocolate silk, banana, apple and rhubarb. We also have several food allergies in the family so we had a couple that covered the Dairy and Gluten free range. If you think that this is a lot of pie you should see us on Pie day in March! In the end yes its about the Pie but its also about family, and I am so grateful for mine. I hope that your Thanksgiving is an amazing and memorable occasion, and that you have a wonderful holiday season with all the love that can possibly fill it.

Trade War Take 2

by

What started as a little game of chicken has turned into a full out assault.  As the US expands tariffs on imported consumer products who wins and who loses is not entirely clear.  But it is a fact that, we the American consumer, will feel the brunt of the expanding trade war, and business be affected in the short term most definitely.  Read Natalie Gouchner’s article in Utah Business for a thoughtful review of our current trade situation. https://www.utahbusiness.com/escalating-trade-war/

ELA day at Packsize

by

We had a chance to tour the PackSize facility today. What an impressive group of people and a fantastic packing resource for distribution and logistics. PackSize helps its customers save money on shipping and labor costs while simultaneously creating a more efficient shipping process. PackSize machines enable companies to create custom sized boxes for customer orders and e-commerce so well. I'm so impressed with the business model and equally impressed with that companies philosophy of making businesses more sustainable with the environment as well. Check them out at packsize.com
